In this episode Bill and Jonathan discuss a range of topics including songwriting, bird behavior, life birds, and the vagaries of small travel guitars. During the eight-day trip he and his group of birding journalists and travel professionals tallied more than 250 bird species and learned a great deal about this narrow isthmus of land connecting Central and South America. The itinerary followed a new birding circuit created by Panama La Verde, which aims to direct ecotourists to birding spots and eco-lodges in wonderful, but little-known regions of Panama. Bill and his traveling companions share some of their experiences and impressions, plus favorite bird sightings, from their journey on the Panama La Verde birding circuit.

The Sit! is a worldwide annual event held on the second Sunday in October. Although the birding during this time of year may not be as thrilling as, say, in May or September, Big Sitters agree that the camaraderie of spending time with friends makes this event a highlight of the birding year.
